Frequently Asked Questions

What is the price Range for Tattoos?

Prices for tattoos start at 80 € (studio minimum) and are quoted by your artist according to Design, Size, Location, etc. An artist must be able to see the completed and final design in order to provide accurate pricing. You are paying for Tattooing time only, we do not charge for consultation time nor for drawing/development and preparation time, including breaks during tattooing process.

Medium and Large projects (3 – 10+ hours/sleeves, backpieces etc.) - are charged by hour rate. Custom and Individual designs of a larger nature, will be charged for half of the total drawing/development time. The reason for that is that the drawing, designing and the idea development of large individual tattoos are critical and demanding stages, and at times it may take up to several days for an artist to complete the design and go though all the details. Please remember that we are always looking to achieve the best results only, pushing our limits thats who we are and what makes us to be where we are today. You will not be charged for consultation and breaks during tattooing, here as well.

NOTE:If You are on a limited budget, please inform your artist before he/she starts to develop your design. Price quotes cannot be given over the phone or via e-mail.

» Can You continue/re-work/cover-up my old tattoo?

Yes we can, but we are not able to take all the projects. It depends on many factors like: placement of your old tattoo on the body and available  for tattooing space on your skin, how deep the old pigments are and how dark the whole tattoo is, how appliable your idea is in general, and so on. The best way would be to set-up a consultation appointment with one of our artists and visit us at the studio. ……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………….

» What can I do, prior to my appointment, in order to achieve best tattooing results with less pain as possible?

During at least 2 weeks before your tattooing appointment, take extra care of your skin. Skin peeling (especially for back and spine cord area), 1-2 times a week, depending on your skin condition. Moisturizing your skin with natural lotions, cream and oils.

» NOTE: DO NOT apply any body lotion or cream on the area of the skin, where You are going to be tattooed on that day.

Every time when in shower, gently scrub your skin with rough sponge, just enough to stimulate the blood circulation and skin cells renewal(by the way, in order to keep your skin in its best condition, and doing this on a regular basis wont hurt at all,  but not during the healing time!) This will make the whole tattooing process much easier and faster, thus, with less pain. Clean and soft skin will allow easier penetration of the needle with less pain, as well as better reception of a pigment during healing process.

» NOTE: Avoid sunbathing for at least 7 days prior to your tattooing appointment. DO NOT expose to direct sunlight any area of your skin , which was planned for tattooing, shortly prior to your tattooing appointment.

……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………….

» How should I prepare for a tattoo?

Rest well the night before. Get a good night’s sleep and refrain from partying, drugs, blood diluting medication and alcohol.  Have a good breakfast/lunch before your Tattoo/Piercing appointment. If You will come to your tattoo appointment tired or ill, You will probably find it difficult to make it through a long 3-5 hours session of tattooing. If you follow these instructions getting a tattoo will be a lot easier on you.Do tattoo hurt? Yes, but you will live, and with a cool new tattoo.

» Can I get a tattoo while I’m pregnant?

For the safety of Yourself and Your unborn child, You should not get a tattoo when You are pregnant. Everything You take into Your body can affect the baby – why risk it? Getting a tattoo can also lower your immunity to other illnesses while your body heals the tattoo, making you and your child susceptible. It’s just not worth the risk, and this likewise applies to piercings.

……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………….

» Can I get a tattoo  if I’m breastfeeding?

Again, just like when you’re pregnant, what goes into your body will affect what eventually goes into the baby. The general rule is no tattoos or piercings until at least 6 weeks after the baby has been weaned. This ensures that your body is back to “normal” and that the child is not dependant on your milk. Then it should be safe for you to get a tattoo or piercing.

……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………….

» Can I get a tattoo if I’m on my period?

A tattoo will not affect your period, and being on your period will not affect your tattoo. The only thing you might want to consider is your pain tolerance – if you’re already cramping and uncomfortable, you might not want to add the discomfort of a tattoo to that. But there is no reason you can’t get a tattoo when you’re on your period.

……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………….

» Will weight gain or loss affect my tattoo?

Any tattoo can be affected by changes in size of the body, but the good news is that it’s usually not that noticeable. Tattoos can be very forgiving, and if the weight gain or loss occurs slowly enough, this gives your tattoo time to “adjust”. Imagine a balloon with a logo on it, The logo appears essentially the same when the balloon is full as it is when it’s deflated, with maybe a slight difference in depth of color. Your skin will usually not undergo as much size change as a balloon, so the changes in your tattoo should be even less visible. Your skin is very elastic and stretches and contracts without much incidence, in most cases. Stomach tattoos and pregnancy are possibly one of the exceptions, which will be discussed next.

……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………….

» How will pregnancy affect a stomach tattoo?

This is one area that can be a little less forgiving than the rest of your body. Pregnancy is quick weight gain and a lot of stretching over a short period of time. Your tattoo may not be able to adjust as well to these changes, and there could be some damage. Also keep in mind that in the event a C-section should become necessary when giving birth, your tattoo could undergo even more abuse. If you think you may have children in the future, it might be wise to wait on that tummy tattoo. The other thing that can cause problems in this area is stretch marks, which is the next topic.

……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………….

» Can stretch marks damage my tattoo?

Unfortunately, yes they can. Which is why it’s important to think about where you are placing your tattoos if you might get pregnant or have weight fluctuation difficulty. Areas that are most prone to stretch marks are the lower back, under arms and breasts, stomach, and abdomen.

……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………….

» Can a tattoo damaged by stretch marks be fixed?

Sometimes yes, sometimes no. If you have a damaged tattoo, you’ll have to let your artist take a look at it and determine whether or not it can be salvaged, fixed or covered up.

……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………….

» Can stretch marks be tattooed over?

How deep and what color are the stretch marks? Light stretch marks that are almost the same shade as your skin will be easy to cover with a tattoo. Pinkish stretch marks that are not deep aren’t too bad to deal with. Deep or darkly colored red or purple stretch marks, however, present more of a challenge. The best thing for you to do is to go see your tattoo artist and let him/her look at your stretch marks and make an evaluation. Even if your stretch marks are dark or deep, the artist may have some ideas as to how to work around them or even incorporate them into a cool design.

Craftz Berlin is the best Tattoo Studio in Berlin or Germany or World?

We realize that for people who do not have any tattoos and for people without knowledge and experience in drawings, design and especially technical aspect of tattooing, is at times extremely hard to find and decide among all the wide range of tattoo shops out there, that fit your own personal taste. If only it would be that simple as to type in search “the best tattoo studio in…”, right? Unfortunately that is not that simple, as you may probably already found out, as well as the fact that the most media-covered and advertised tattoo studios are not necessarily are suitable for you. We strongly recommend you to make your own research, especially if it’s your first tattoo, take your time and browse through portfolios of tattoo artists, ask questions. Be aware of tattoo studios in which the owner does not tattoo on a regular basis, professionally or ESPECIALLY does not tattoo AT ALL, as well as organizations with multiple branches, Most likely those people wont be able to provide you a good service, as they might have other concerns rather than focusing on providing good tattooing service and results.

Where is the best Tattoo Studio or Tattoo Artist in Berlin, Germany or World?

There is simply no such thing.

There are studios that try to give the best they can, that means hiring competent and experienced staff, which will constantly hone their drawing and tattooing skills, acquire only the best professional equipment available, in short, strive to provide the best service they can. And those who do it for money only, and all those who in between.

Who is the best Tattoo Artist in your Team at Craftz Berlin?

Seriously…really? All of our Artists are extremely skillful professionals, specializing in different styles, with academical knowledge in drawings, design and plastic arts, with  years of experience in the field.

Why is it so expensive? In other Tattoo shops it’s….etc

Again…please don’t ask this question.
